Annual Dodgeball Castle Cup (early access demo)

Welcome to the early access demo. This is a simple single player game featuring turn based battle with dodgeball as the theme. All art, music, and sound effects will be replaced, and more gameplay features and story will be added.

I had a related plan to try to bring together my local community to name a new park after at least seven guys who we played dodgeball with have passed away, but it'd be a park for more sports than just dodgeball. I didn't know the best ways to reach out to the community, and I thought it might be be easier to merge this into my other projects since it's related, and use the free PC game as a way to help advertise for the new multi-sports park named after the seven guys. We will first reach out to friends or family of the seven who passed away, to make sure they are ok with having the seven names be part of this plan for the community.

In this early access demo, your goal is to reach the castle, and you go through levels with a forest theme on your way there. This game features:

The main characters are based off players from a new international team, but the first chapter of the game is a flashback episode based on a true story about the coach of the new international team.

19 playable characters - One playable character you meet along the way is a former dodgeball player who has become disabled, so don't bother trying to throw with this character, but you can try to go for a catch. Having this player in your party increases the chances of getting more gold when defeating enemies, which is required to advance to the next level. (some of these characters are also featured on a separate but related physical card game for sale soon)

116 enemies (which are also enemies featured on the separate but related physical card game for sale soon)

1 enemy from an orange icon encounter - This type of encounter depends on which card you chose from the previous level, each offering four different potential outcomes in a more story based enemy encounter experience, for a total of 16 different potential outcomes from each of these enemy encounter types. Future updates will feature 1 to 3 of these enemy encounter types on each level.

1 item type - dodgeballs. You can still try to catch, but the chances are less likely than that of a successful throw. In a future update we may add new ball types such as ice and fire type balls.

1 orange icon in the center of each level - This is another method to check how much gold your party currently has. In the next update we may change this to be a shop where you can by new ball types.

Art: Yes, ai was used for most of the art, except for the obvious exceptions. I hope to find a Ukrainian artist and musician to be involved in all future updates, if the plans are successful.

Goal:

As a way to start small since the crowdfunding site is considered all or nothing, our goal for the related physical card games is a mere half of 0.001% of 132 million people, which is related to a Dec. 2023 article about a popular video game digital distribution service and storefront. 

Future Goals:

Park named after seven guys who we played dodgeball with in the Memphis area. Different sections can be named after each of the seven guys and in the center could be a multi-sports court design similar to a padel court or court inspired by Extreme Dodgeball from Season 3 from Game Show Network, but we can modify the ends so they open up to form goals so we can have 3 vs 3 futsal or team handball on other days of the week, or wallyball if we add a net to go across the center. If we have enough room we can also create a disc golf course which could convert to a foot golf course on other days of the week, and a kickball course, to help make this a unique place to offer some sports which might not be as popular to give something back to the community.

Annual Dodgeball Castle Cup - The real annual event for a good cause, with a potential location in Europe and a potential annual location in the U.S. The free PC game can be used to help advertise for this event. I've already been in contact with a Ukrainian organization in the US and a Ukrainian organization in Europe, but our affiliation isn't official yet, so I don't want to release more details about that yet.
